Opi & Skyler
During the night of when Skyler had transformed to his demonic half, Opi and Skyler stared at each other for a bit. Noticing that Skyler’s expression change and began to tear up and muttered in a whisper and saw him spread his wings and propel himself into the air and zoom off in the night sky. Opi looked back at the still sleeping Cady and back at the direction Skyler headed, then glancing back to Cody, Stay strong… Opi said while lightly nudging Cody and flew off in search for Skyler that night. Skyler flew swiftly through the air at extraordinary speed, but his intent was to not let his other half take him over and unleash it’s intent, especially little ones like Cody, "I- I can’t… I can’t go back! I’m so sorry… I’m a *sniff* monster!" Tears continued down from his glowing eyes, sobbing. After nearly two hours of gliding through the night, Skyler had caught sight of a cave opening atop a mountain near the peak, then sudden twisted visions flashed before his eyes. All in his demonic form, holding Cody in his mouth, limp and bleeding from his mouth and large scratches. Skyler shook his head to try and get rid of the images, and found himself hurdling down at the mouth of the cave. Skyler tried putting on the breaks on the rapid descent, though it did slow him down, Skyler still fell to a crash landing. After a few moments, Skyler curled up, "What am I? I’ve never asked for this…" Skyler rose his wing over his face and quietly released heavier tears.
Opi, still following the energy trail only she could see, spotted a good sized cave for most dragons. She also saw a faint glow deeper in the mouth of the cave, Skyler… Opi said with sorrow and relief and drifted down to the entrance. As Opi softly landed near the cave’s mouth, she saw a weeping Skyler, still in the form that seemingly brings him dread. By the time she had found Skyler, it was already sunrise. Skyler slowly lowered the wing down to his side, the sides of his face drenched from the many tears he shed. "Why… Why won’t it end?" Skyler sobbed, looking up at Opi, whose eyes showed love and compassion towards Skyler. You’re no monster. Opi said softly, then lay next to Skyler and slowly wrapped her head beside his.
Cody
Walking through the light dappled forest seemed so peaceful to Cody. He constantly saw things he wanted to explore, but he had a mission. "Skyler, where are you?" As the little dragon trotted along he noticed a break in the trees. Drawing nearer his feet went from walking on soft moss to cool stone. Looking up, Cody could barely see the peak of the large gray mountain before him. Sitting back on his hind legs Cody took the compass around his neck and held it up to the top of the mountain. The arrow seemed to go wild as it spun in circles until finally the compass exploded. Gasping in shock Cody fell back, a piece of shrapnel cutting his cheek. Gathering himself he looked at the remains of his compass in wonder. What is up with this mountain? The compass had been specifically made to track large amounts of magic. If Skyler and Opi were still together they would for sure be picked up by the compass. But this mountain...it had enough magic to obliterate the compass. It’s not safe here Cody thought to himself. The mountain seemed to be in pain, as if it wanted to scream. Cody gazed up at the mountain in distress. He knew that Skyler was up there and he knew he wouldn’t be able to fly up to him. “SKYLER!” Cody yelled up at the mountain. “SKYLER!”
